Setting up a new VIZIO TV takes about 15 minutes: attach the stand or wall mount, plug in power, then follow the on-screen setup to pick your language, connect to the internet, and accept terms.

Before you begin

  • Your TV, remote, batteries, and stand (or a compatible wall mount)
  • Your Wi-Fi network name and password, or an Ethernet cable
  • Optional: a smartphone with the VIZIO Mobile app

Unbox and attach the stand

Lay the TV face-down on a soft, flat surface. Attach the stands or a VESA-compatible wall mount using the included screws.

Connect power and devices

Plug the power cord into the TV and a wall outlet. Connect any cable box, console, or antenna now if you have them.

Insert batteries and power on

Put the batteries in the remote and press the Power button.

Follow the on-screen setup

Choose your language, country, and time zone. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password, or use a wired connection.

Accept terms and let the TV update

Review and accept the terms. The TV may download a software update; leave it powered on until it finishes.

Start watching

Open the home screen to launch streaming apps, or press Input to switch to a connected device.
Some models let you complete setup from the VIZIO Mobile app on your phone. If prompted on screen, follow the app instructions instead.
VIZIO TV setup is free. Ignore pop-ups, websites, or callers that ask you to pay for activation or a setup code.
